3/13/19

In today's class, we continued to take notes on the Greek slides, but we looked farther into the people who ruled and what were their laws/rules. The lliad, possibly one of the last conquest of the Mycenaeans. The Odyssey, Odysseus attempts to return home after the Trojan War, being thwarted by the angry god of the sea, Poseidon.

Aristocrats- Members of the ruling class, they mostly fan the show of Greece.

Symposiums- meetings where the elite men would enjoy wine and pottery, performances by dancers and acrobats, and the company of hetaeras while discussing politics.

Hoplites- well armed soldiers

Draco, Solon, and Cleisthenes were all famous leaders in that era, (500-621 BCE).
