The last blog

In today's class, we did our final test before exams next week.  I think I did pretty well on the test but I could of studied a little bit more, I was a little caught up in my other exams that I took yesterday and today. I spent most of my time studying for that than this test. Overall, It was a great semester and cant wait to be back next year.

5/30/19

In today's class, we finished up all of our notes and completed the slides about Renaissance and Reformation. The test is tomorrow but I think I am ready, I have been studying a lot for this test and the upcoming exams. This probably is my last blog for the year so it has been a great second semester in western civ and hopefully I have Mr. Shick next year for government.

In today's class, we took a lot of notes on Renaissance and Reformation. Our test is on Friday so we have one more day to study. This is going to be the last test before exams and then we are done for the year. I just have to keep studying for this test and exams and I think I will be good. Hopefully the test is going to be easy but I am ready of it is hard.

Peace of Augsburg- A famous religious settlement who decided the religion of the state

Annul- To set aside (marriage) 

Anglican- Church of England with Elizabeth as head

3)Queen Elizabeth I helped restore Protestantism, Powerful monarchs challenged the church as the supreme power in Europe, many leaders viewed the pope as a foreign ruler and challenged his authority, etc.

In today's class, people finished up their blogs from Friday. I finished early on Friday so I went over some blogs a while back to study for the exam. I am going to take all of my notes and put them into a binder so I can study much easier and not have to find all of my papers. I am going to do this for every class so I can be prepared for the finals.

In today's class, we are taking another day to review for the test on Thursday. We also took some notes to help:
  • Etruscans: came from the north-central part of Rome
  • Lucius Tarquinius Superbus, was the seventh final king of Rome
  • Terrible behavior made them never want to be subject to the rule of kings ever again
  • There are 3 branches of government in Rome, like the USA
  • Senates and House of Representatives
  • Judicial(USA)- Supreme court, nine members, lifetime terms
  • Bill of rights- First ten amendments to the constitution
  • 50 questions on the test
  • Punic war 1 (264-241 BCE)
  • Second Punic War (218-201 BCE)
  • Third Punic War (149-146 BCE)
  • Plebs- very poor people that sometimes revolt against the rich, to stop this, the rich would give food to the poor so they can prevent revolting
  • Julius Caesar-  Powerful leader
  • Triumvirate- Pompey, Crassus, and Julius Caesar
  • Julius Caesar served as consul (one year)
  • Caesar grandnephew, Octavian takes over at the age of 18
